Do Mirrors Lie?"Do mirrors lie?" she wonders aloud reaching forward to stroke the cool glass with her trembling fingers. So much had changed since she had last dared to look. "I'm glad makeup hides things well" she says fumbling with the ivory coated lid. Pressing down time after time gently on her swollen eye she winces with each stroke. Looking back into the mirror she stares at her brown eyes; when there not red from crying she finds them to be her best feature. "Why me?" she asks staring into the pools of sadness, loneliness. "Why?" she whispers fighting back the tears that threaten to wash away her carefully coated mask of normality.Do Mirrors Lie?
